Obituary, The Clarinda Herald-Journal, Clarinda, IA, Feb. 8, 2006 Ola Custer, age 99, of Clarinda, Iowa, formerly of Shenandoah, Iowa, died Tuesday, February 07, 2006, at Westridge Quality Care & Rehab, Clarinda, Iowa. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2006 at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa with Rev. Karen Bash officiating. There will be open visitation at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Clarinda Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Westridge Quality Care and Rehab, First Christian Church, Shenandoah, Iowa or to the donor's choice. Walker-Merrick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ola Custer was born June 25, 1906, at West Plains, Missouri, to.James T. Campbell and Lucinda Ann (Coffee) Campbell. She was united in marriage on February 23, 1925 to John Ziehe and on September 27, 1964 to Herman Edward Custer. Ola was a member of the First Christian Church, Shenandoah, Iowa. She was a very good cook and she also enjoyed crocheting. Ola was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; son, Jerry Ziehe; grandson, Michael Ziehe; great grandson, John Ziehe; two brothers and four sisters. Survivors include her son, John Ziehe and wife Arlene of Hayward, California; daughter, Betty Werts of Clarinda, Iowa; daughter, Catherine Slevin of Kansas City, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; fifteen great, great grandchildren.
