He was born in Beech Grove, June 20, 1911, a son of the late Napoleon D. Fitzgerald and Rose Ella Coffey Fitzgerald.Mr. Fitzgerald was a member of Beech Grove Christian Church and retired from Basic-Witz Furniture Co. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bessie Harris Fitzgerald; two sons, David Lee Fitzgerald and Raymond R. Fitzgerald Jr., both of Beech Grove; two daughters, Mrs. James (Dorothy) Ballowe and Mrs. John (Barbara) Gormes, both of Beech Grove; one sister, Effie Hicks of Nitro, W. Va.; one brother, Tucker Fitzgerald of Lynchburg; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Hoy Fitzgerald and Tommy Fitzgerald.A service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Beech Grove Christian Church by the Rev. J. D. Farries. Burial will be Beech Grove Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be J. L. Thompson Jr., Warren Fitzgerald, Robert Mansfield, John C. Massie, Garth Fields and Delbert Fish. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Martin, Robert Campbell, Basil Campbell, Layman Dodd, Worthy Thompson, John L. Thompson, Arthur Truslow Jr., Darrell Stevens, Clyde Perry, Sam Stevens, Joe Palmer, Jesse Bridge, Tim Hess, McAuldman Campbell and Ray Snabley.
