Whitley City — Gladys Anderson age 87 years and 1 month formerly of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the Jellico Community Hospital in Tennessee.

She was born September 2, 1923 in Whitley City, Kentucky to Joseph Francis Coffey and Dora Roberts Coffey. Gladys was a devoted member of the Whitley City First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, secretary, and the girls GA leader. Before retirement, Gladys was also a secretary for the McCreary Co. High School.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Kazee officiating. Burial followed in the Holloway cemetery.

Proceeding [sic] her in death are her parents; husband, Roy Anderson; brothers, Clarence, Thurstle, Claude Coffey; sisters Elsie Whitehead and Maudie Ball.

Survivors include sons Roger Anderson and his wife, Rita, of Whitley City, Kentucky, Robert Anderson and his wife, Jocelyn, of Niceville, Florida; sister, Gertie Phillips of Pine Knot, Kentucky; grandchildren, Ray Troxell, Andy West, and Sebastian Anderson; great-grandchildren, Cody, Dillon, & Jaylin Troxell, Kyle & Andrea West, and Corey & Elizabeth Anderson.
