He lived with his parents in McCreary Co., KY on 23 April 1930. Clyde died on 21 July 1989 at the age of 71 in Pine Knot, McCreary Co., KY and was buried at Pine Knot Cemetery in Pine Knot, McCreary Co., KY.⁴¹⁸⁶⁹

Funeral services were held Monday, July 244, at 1 p.m. at McCreary County Funeral Home with Bros. Mitchell Bunch and Charles Maxey officiating.

Burial was in Pine Knot Cemetery.

He was born in Barthell, Ky., Nov. 3, 1917, the son of the late John Coffey and Ollie Sellars Coffey. He was a coal miner and a member of Word of God Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Charles Coffey.

Survivors include his wife, Edna King Coffey, Pine Knot, whom he married Aug. 10, 1976 in Huntsville, Tenn.; his children, Ted Coffey and Pat Coffey, both of Whitley City, David Ray Coffey, Fayrene Hall and Milford Coffey, Concinnati, Morris Coffey, Wiborg, Nona Rains, Centerville, Ohio, Kenneth Coffey, Strunk, Irene Bryant, James Clark, David Clark, Cincinnati, Tommy Clark, Kingston, Ga., Dorthy Lay and Jeff Clark, both of Pine Knot; 38 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

McCreary County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Clyde V. Coffey and Edna King were married on 10 August 1876 in Huntsville, Scott Co., TN. Edna King was born on 16 January 1932.
