He was of the Baptist Faith and served in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Coffey, father, Lawrence Coffey, and brother, Larry James Coffey, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Essie Coffey, of Oakdale; two sons and daughters-in-law; David and Libby Coffey of Virginia, and Garry & Faye Coffey of Oakdale; three brothers, David of Harriman, Frank of Oakdale and Leonard of Wartburg; four sisters; Helen Conner of Oakdale; Nellie Everett of Harriman; Wanda Abston of Kingston and Linda Kilby of Oakdale; four granddaughters; Tracy, Melanie and Kelly Coffey and Mrs. Gary (Kim) Wells and one Great-grandson, T.J. Wells.Two aunts, Myrtle Qualls and Pearl Weiner, both of Rockwood, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held Monday, October 10, at 2:00 p.m. at the Schubert Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Carl Johnson Jr. and Allen Johnson officiating.
