Obituary; Knoxville News Sentinal --- December 1999 -- WATSON, LELA LODENA - age 77 of Oakdale, passed away suddenly Friday evening, December 17, 1999. She was preceded in death by her mother Mae Coffey Clark; father, Charlie Clark; brothers, Arnold Clark, Carl Clark; sisters, Mabel Blake and Carlene Clark. Mrs. Watson was born November 13, 1922 in Oakdale's Rankins Chapel Community. She was a faithful member of the Rankins Chapel Church where she had been a member since October 13, 1940. She loved her church and was very devoted to it. She is survived by her husband, Billie Watson; daughters, Brenda and husband, Tommy Clark of Spring City, Arlene and husband, Gary Smith of Oakdale; son, David Watson and wife, Gail of Oakdale; five grandchildren, Michele Clark of Tampa, Fla., Tony Clark of Soddy Daisy, Felicia Willis of Oakdale, Serena Peters of Oakdale, Jeremy Smith of Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D.; four great grandchildren, Nikkie and Cody Clark of Soddy Daisy, Kimberly and Brittany Willis, Oakdale; two sisters, Myrtle Copland of Oakdale, Eva Solomon of Ft. Olgethorpe, Ga.; two brothers, Albert Clark of Harriman and Walter Clark of Rockwood; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Jeremy Smith, Tracy Willis, Larry Peters, Ted Bunch, Keith Allen, Derrick Stewart, Larry Goldston, Charles Clark & W. A. (Bill) Clark. Interment in Rankins Chapel Church cemetery. BILLIE, age 81 of Oakdale, passed away October 20, 2006 at the Life Care Center of Morgan. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Lela Clark Watson; parents; William Houston and Blanche Coffman Watson; brother, Alvin Watson and sister, Vannie Underwood. He is survived by his son, David (Gail) Watson of Oakdale; daughters; Brenda (Tommy) Clark of Spring City and Arlene (Gary) Smith of Oakdale. Sisters; Mona (Walter) Powell, Irene (Alvin) Helton, Dot (Jim) Summers, Gladys (Jim) Dalton and June (Bobby) Horton; special friend Rita Summers along with various family and friends. Pallbearers were; Grandsons, Tony Clark, Jeremy Smith; Great-grandson, Cody Clark; Husbands of granddaughters, Larry Peters & Bruce Bagwell and Nephew, Lloyd Kivett. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 21, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at SchubertFuneral Home, Wartburg.
