Funeral services were held at 2:30 from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He died Tuesday morning about 2:05 at his home following a four months illness. Mr. Stewart operated a general merchandise store, which is now known as Joiner and Alexander Dry Goods Store, for about 30 years in Moulton. Before going into the store business he was a farmer in the Wren Community. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Evertt Aston, C.L. Riley and W.M. Wear officiated at the service. Elliott Brown Service was in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucy Crow Stewart; one son, William Edward Stewart, Moulton; four daughters; Mrs Rena Johnson, Mrs. Stanley Blakemore, Mrs. A.G. Erwin and Mrs. F.C. Pearson, all of Moulton; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Lucy Crow Coffey and John Edd Stewart had the following children:
