Graveside Funeral for Theo E. deGraffenried, 71, of Route 6 Decatur will be Monday at 11 AM at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. B. J. Carter officiating.

The family will receive friends today from 5 to 8 PM at Brown Service Funeral Home.

Mr. deGraffenried died Saturday at Decatur General Hospital. He was a 32nd degree Mason with Decatur Lodge No. 29 and a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was retired from Monsanto in Decatur and Pensacola, Florida after 28 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Lena deGraffenried ; a daughter, Anita deGraffenried of Decatur; and a stepsister, Mildred Rombokas of Trinity.

Pallbearers will be Joe Portwood, Franklin D. Portwood, Frank Knoblock, George Journey, Arthur Austin and John Ross.

The family requests memorials the made to the oncology Center at Decatur General Hospital.

Lee and Hattie Farris, was born on 13 September 1919 in Alabama. Lena died in Decatur, Morgan Co., AL on 22 August 2004 and was buried at Roselawn Gardens of Memory in Decatur, Morgan Co., AL on 24 August 2004 .³²⁹⁶⁴

Lena Lee DeGraffenried [sic]

Funeral for Lena Lee DeGraffenried, 84, of Decatur will be Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Stonbraker and the Rev. Burl Oliver officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 8 and Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. DeGraffenried died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Sept. 14, 1919, in Decatur to Robert E. Lee and Hattie Farris Lee. She was retired as an LPN from Decatur General Hospital and Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Mrs. DeGraffenried was preceded in death by her husband, Theo E. DeGraffenried; her son, Aaron DeGraffenried; and her sister, Mary L. Austin.

Survivors include one daughter, Anita Coffey and husband Marlin of Decatur; two brothers, Bro. Joe Portwood of Decatur and John Portwood and wife Sue of Midland, Ga.; two sisters, Frances Brown of Nashville and Peggy Portwood and husband Kizziah of Lompoc, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
