Ralph died on 21 July 1997 at the age of 79 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville, Knox Co., TN and was buried at Litton Cemetery in Oneida, Scott Co., TN on 24 July 1997.41887

Ralph Coffey, 79, of Oneida, died Monday, July 21, 1997, at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville. He was born in Scott County on September 3, 1917, and was the son of the late Jay and Ella Litton Coffey. He was a member and deacon of the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Oneida since March 1949, and owned and operated Coffey T.V. and Service Shop for 39 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, William "Bill" Coffey and Charles Ralph Coffey; two sisters, Anna Jane Coffey and Beatrice Coffey; four brothers: Roy, Archie, George and Luther Coffey; stepmother, Jane Coffey; son-in-law, Bill Sexton; and a granddaughter, Angela Faye Sexton. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Leona Mae Chambers Coffey; a daughter, Ella Coffey Sexton of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters: Edie Duncan and husband, Frank, and Evelyn Kent, all of South Carolina; four brothers: Robert Coffey of South Carolina; Johnny Coffey and wife, Jean, of Florida; Dalton Coffey and wife, Bernice, of Kentucky; and Earl Coffey and wife, Mary, of Indiana; five grandchildren: Scott Sexton, Michael Sexton, and Pam Williams, all of Dayton, Ohio; Michelle Ipock of Oneida; and Mark Coffey and wife, Billie, of Georgia; great-grandchildren: Shane Williams and Michael Sexton of Dayton, Ohio; Ashley Ipock of Oneida; and Stephen and Heather Coffey of Georgia; daughter-in-law, Brenda Coffey of Winfield; step-granddaughter, Julia Kuhn of Knoxville; and two step-great-granddaughters, Nikki and Cara Girage of Georgia. Many nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 24, 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with the Reverends Dale Smith and Chester Morgan officiating. Special music will be provided by Allen Matthews. Burial will follow in the Litton Cemetery. The family was to receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m. at the Jones & Son Funeral Home of Oneida, which had charge of arrangements.

Ralph Coffey and Leona Chambers were married circa 1939. They lived with his paternal grandmother in Scott Co., TN on 30 April 1940. Leona Chambers, daughter of James Garfield Chambers and Osey Violet Strunk, was born on 8 October 1921 in Scott Co., TN. Leona died at Oneida Nursing & Rehab Center in Oneida, Scott Co., TN on 19 May 2013 and was buried at Leona is buried on 23 May 2013 at Litton Cemetery in Oneida, Scott Co., TN. Her date of death is unknown.41888

Leona M. Chambers Coffey age 91 of Oneida, Tennessee passed away on Sunday May 19, 2013 at the Oneida Nursing & Rehab Center.

Born in Huntsville, Tennessee on October 8, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Garfield and Osey Strunk Chambers.

She was a member of the Winfield Baptist Church.

Leona love God and her husband Ralph. She loved all children especially her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She had a hobby of collecting dolls.

In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by husband Ralph Coffey; two sons, Charles and Sgt. William Coffey; two sisters, Evelyn Rose and Martha Rankins; two brothers, Garfield and James Chambers; three grandchildren; son-in-law, William (Bill) Sexton; a special son, John Matthews

Leona is survived by one daughter, Ella M. Coffey Sexton; grandchildren, Scott Sexton and wife Mary, Pamela Williams and Michael Sexton all of Dayton, Ohio, Michelle Ellis of Oneida, TN, and Mark Coffey and wife Billie of Dalton, GA.; five great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Elma Elkins, Laura Phillips, Golda Phillips, Betty Sharpe and husband Galen all of Georgia; two daughters-in-law, Brenda Coffey Carter and Phyllis Coffey. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and others relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Coffey family on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 2 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Smith and Bro. David Smith officiating. Music will be provided by singers from Winfield Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in the Litton Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers: Bill White, James Russell Brown, Russell Ellis, Dwight Murphy, Jerry Watts and Jerry Taylor.

Charles Ralph Coffey, 55, of Winfield, Tenn., died September 10, 1996, at the Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. Born in Scott County, Tenn., June 16, 1941, he was the son of Ralph and Leona Chambers Coffey. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Coffey and brother-in-law, Bill Sexton. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Brenda Chitwood Coffey; step daughter, Julia Kuhn and husband, Mike of Alcoa, Tenn.; one sister, Ella Sexton of Dayton, Ohio; step grandchildren: Nicole, Cara and Brandon of Alcoa, Tenn.; three nephews: Scott and Michael Sexton of Dayton, Ohio; and Mark Coffey and wife, Billie of Georgia; two nieces: Pam Williams of Dayton, Ohio, and Michelle Ipock of Oneida; three great nephews: Shane Williams and Michael Sexton of Dayton, Ohio; and Stephen Coffey of Ga.; two great nieces, Ashley Ipock of Oneida and Heather Coffey of Ga.; and many aunts, uncles and other relatives. Funeral services were conducted September 13, 1996, in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Revs. Dale Smith, Lon Chenowith and Charles Goad officiating. Special music was provided by Alan Matthews, Gail Chitwood and Irene Chitwood. Interment followed in the Litton Cemetery. Jones and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
