Mr. Stanley Stephen "Steve" Coffey, 65, of Granite Falls, N.C., went home to be with our Lord on June 2, 2011, at Frye Regional Medical Center.
He was born on May 6, 1946, and was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. George Stanley Coffey (Neta Fields).

Steve was retired from Broyhill Furniture Industries and he was of the Lutheran faith.

He was a proud member of Sons of Confederate Veterans, Brig. General J. Johnson Pettigrew Camp No. 1401, and Sons and Daughters of the Confederacy.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of forty-six years, Bonnie Rector Coffey, of the home; one son, Richard "Rick" Coffey, of Granite Falls, N.C.; one daughter, Beth Johnson and husband, Tim, of Lenoir, N.C.; and his pride and joy, granddaughter, Jilian Alexis Johnson.

A funeral service for Mr. Coffey will be held 7 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Pendry's Chapel with the Rev. Gary Waters officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. Until 7 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park, Lenoir, N.C.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Rector, Brian Rector, Brandon Waters, Adam Waters, Ronnie Foster and Dustin Davis.

The Coffey family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, N.C. 28645.
