7211. Isaac S. Coffey was born on 23 April 1854 in Green Co., KY. Isaac died on 15 August 1944 at the age of 90 in Green Co., KY and was buried at Hudson Cemetery in Greensburg, Green Co., KY on 16 August 1944.9647

One of the most widely known men in Green Co. in the person of Uncle Dick Coffey was found dead in his room at the home of his son, O.A. Coffey on Tues, 15 Aug [1944] at the age of 91 years. A short time prior to his death he appeared to be in the best of spirits and was up and about his room attending to routine matters. He had only been dead a few minutes when he was found, and had died after laying down in his bed from a stroke of apoplexy. Funeral services were conducted on Wed. at Bethlehem Church by Rev. Manley Towles, and burial was in the cem. near by. As stated Uncle Dick was widely known in the county. He was elected 6 times as Jailer serving a total of 24 years. He also served as town marshal of Greensburg for a number of years. Kind and understanding he was a great lover of children, and they in turn had the highest respect for him as attested by many grown ups in this vicinity who had the pleasure of his association during their childhood. Isaac Coffey was married to Arabelle Coffey on 24 Apr 1873 to which union 8 children were born, 4 of which survive, Mr. Lewis Coffey and Mrs. Mary Paxton of Greensburg, Mr. O.A. Coffey of Kemp and Mrs. Lizzie Paxton of Greensburg. A number of grandchildren. Two of his nephews are Mr. Guy Philpott of Ricky Hill, Ky., and Mr. Henry Philpott of Louisville. He was a Mason and member of the Pink Ridge Baptist Church.

Isaac S. Coffey and Arabelle "Belle" Coffey were married circa 1873 in Kentucky. They appeared in the census on 1 June 1880 in Grove, Green Co., KY.9645 They9645 appeared in the census on 3 June 1900 in Greensburg, Green Co., KY.9646 Arabelle "Belle" Coffey, daughter of Louis Coffey and Mary Hunter, was born on 13 September 1852 in Kentucky. Arabelle died in Green Co., KY on 27 July 1933 and was buried at Hudson Cemetery in Greensburg, Green Co., KY.9644
