HOPE -- Mary L. Baker, 82, of Columbus died at 11:20 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2003, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Baker was a member of Parkside Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Norman Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Wray officiating. Calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

Memorials may be made to Parkside Baptist Church.

Born in Bloomington Aug. 20, 1920, Mrs. Baker was the daughter of Frederick O. and Evron Burkett Coffey. She married Jack T. Baker in 1943.

Survivors include children, Sandra L. Prather of Crothersville, James "Ronnie" Baker of Hope, Paulette and Gary D. Baker, both of Columbus, and Susette Baker of Naples, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1964; a brother, Frederick Coffey Jr; a grandson, Clint Baker; and her stepfather, Morris Romine

Mary Lee Coffey and Jack T. Baker were married on 17 December 1943 in Bartholomew Co., IN.44606 Jack was a soldier at Camp Atterbury near Edinburgh, IN at the time of his marriage to Mary Lee. Jack T. Baker, son of Linda Baker, was born on 24 April 1921 in Dandridge, Jefferson Co., TN.
