Doris died on 10 February 1999 at the age of 85 in Okanogan Co., WA and was buried at Pateros Cemetery in Pateros, Okanogan Co., WA.44071 Doris Jane (Harrell) McClellan, 85, passed away quietly in her sleep Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999 at Valley Care Center in Okanogan. She was born Dec. 8, 1913, in Okangan, to Minnie Lee (Coffey) Harrell and Charles Martin Harrell. She lived her early years at their home in Spring Coulee near Okanogan. Her father died in 1917 and then her mother married George Brownlee in 1919. She moved with her to the Watson District near Pateros. On March 21, 1933, she married Robert Brownlee and they too, made their home in the Watson District near Pateros. In 1941, the family moved to adjoining property near Pateros where she lived until 1970. During this time she worked in various apple sheds as a sorter and later helped to operate Brownlee's Mobile Park and Laundromat. On Aug. 8, 1970 she married Woodrow McClellan at Pateros. She spent the rest of her life at various locations in Central Washington where Woody worked as an orchard manager. Doris was a caring person and was special to many people. She had a knack for growing house plants and flowers. She was especially fond of growing iris. She was a long time member of Alta Rebecca Lodge of Pateros. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Harrell in 1917, her mother Minnie Lee in 1972, her first husband Robert Brownlee in 1969, a grandson Terry Gilden in 1983, a great-grandchild Megan Gilden in 1979, a sister Hazel Newman in 1990. She is survived by her husband, Woodrow of Omak; sons, Andrew Brownlee, of Tonasket and Phil Brownlee and his wife, Joan, of Pateros; daughters Lorraine and her husband, Bill (John) Gilden, of Wenatchee and Jean and her husband, Max Engfer of Marysville; sisters Leda Brownlee, of Pateros and Grace and her husband, Art Nordang, of Methow; a brother, John Brownlee and his wife, Beverly, of Leavenworth; stepchildren, AJ McClellan of Richland, Jerry McClellan of East Wenatchee, Steve McClellan of Omak, Ron McClellan of Ellensburg, Bonnie Henricks of San Jose, CA. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, numerous step-great-grandchildren. Precht-Harrison is in charge of arrangements. Robert died on 7 January 1969 at the age of 63 in Pateros, Okanogan Co., WA and was buried at Pateros Cemetery in Pateros, Okanogan Co., WA.44073 |
