He was a retired employee of the city of Charlottesville. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Martha J. Clements of Baltimore, Maryland; and two sons, James N. Fitzgerald of Charlottesville and William T. Fitzgerald of San Pedro, Calif. He had 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 4 great, great grandchildren. The funeral was Friday, Nov. 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hill and Irving Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Riverview Cemetery.
