Esther Phillips, 83, died May 17, 1997, in Youngstown, Ohio. Born in Oneida, Tenn., April 14, 1914, she was the daughter of late Robert Coffey and Ernie Litton Coffey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded also in death by her husband, Kenneth Phillips; and one brother, Harold Coffey. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Rochelle Hancock; three grandsons: Scott, Lane and Todd Hancock; and other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted May 20, 1997, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Lon Chenowith officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazel Valley Cemetery. West-Murley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ester Coffey and Kenneth Phillips were married. Kenneth Phillips was born on 21 August 1896. Kenneth died on 15 March 1973 at the age of 76 and was buried at Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery in Oneida, Scott Co., TN.⁴¹⁸⁹⁸
