Parsons and Sarah Christine Davis, was born on 28 October 1934 in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC.⁴³⁷⁹⁴ Sarah died at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC on 19 May 2019 and was buried at Hollow Springs Church Cemetery in Kings Creek, Caldwell Co., NC on 22 May 2019 .⁴³⁷⁹⁵

Sarah “Polly” Parsons Coffey, age 84, of Lenoir, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care-Kirkwood. She was born October 28, 1934 in Caldwell County to the late James and Sarah Christine Davis Parsons. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson L. Coffey; and one son, Robert (Michael) Coffey.

Polly was the manager of Family Dollar in Lenoir for 21 years.  She was a lifelong member of College Avenue Baptist Church where she attended services her entire life.  She was a good Christian woman who helped a lot of people with her kindness.  There is no greater love than the love she had for her family.  Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends will miss her greatly.

Survivors include, three sons, Thomas (Tommy) W. Coffey and wife Darlene, Terry E. Coffey, and James H. Coffey, all of Lenoir; one daughter, Christie Anne Coffey Graybeal of Lenoir; one brother, John C. Parsons and wife Debbie of Atlanta, GA.; grandchildren, Jim Coffey, Brad Coffey and wife Shannon, Bobby Coffey, Jessica Graybeal Kern and husband Matt, Justin Graybeal and Dallas Coffey; numerous great-grandchildren; and her cousin, Dorine Taylor.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 4:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Nicky Waters.  Interment will immediately follow the service at Hollow Springs Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Coffey, Tommy Coffey, Justin Graybeal, Brad Coffey, Matt Kern, Steve Laney, Alan Key and Dallas Coffey.
