William Avery Kirby and Ruth Eva Montgomery were married in 1935 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC.30962 Ruth Eva Montgomery, daughter of William B. Montgomery and Rhoda Etta Smith, was born on 14 March 1914 in Caldwell Co., NC.30963 Ruth died at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC on 19 March 1998 and was buried at Kings Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Lenoir, Kings Creek Twp., Caldwell Co., NC on 21 March 1998 .30964

Ruth E. Montgomery Kirby, 84, of Kings Creek Church Road, Lenoir, died Tuesday, May 19, 1998, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 14, 1914, in Caldwell County to the late Rhoda Smith Montgomery. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Avery Kirby and five sisters.

Mrs. Kirby was a homemaker and a member of Kings Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis Wayne Kirby of Lenoir and Donald Avery Kirby of Hudson; two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Margie) Kirby and Mrs. Ray (Christine) Bowlin, both of Lenoir; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday at Kings Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond White officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
