Mrs. Coffey was born on February 18, 1913 in Rockbridge County and was a daughter of the late John William Riley and Rosa Lily Plogger Riley. She was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Glasgow and was preceded in death by a son, John Marshall Coffey. Mrs. Coffey is survived by her five children, Dorothy Lewis of Florida, Cecil Coffey of Glasgow, James Coffey of Chesapeake, Dolly Snodgrass of Salem and Mary Jane Brown of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; two sisters, Mildred Floyd and Lonnie Floyd, both of Buena Vista; 14 grandchildren including Debbie Story which Mrs. Coffey raised from infancy; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Michael Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery.
