She was born March 27, 1949 in Avery County to the late Cuba M. and Elsie Suddreth Coffey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel Coffey and Sarah Jean Coffey; and one brother, Jim Coffey. Judy graduated from Gamewell-Collettsville High School, retired from Bernhardt Furniture, and was a member of Edgemont Baptist Church. She had a big heart, loved fiercely, and shared that love and kindness with everyone. She was very talented and created works of art with her knitting, crocheting, quilting, painting, gardening, cooking, canning, and so much more. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all who love her.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Preacher Billy Mitchell. Interment will immediately follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens of Lenoir. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
