GRANITE FALLS Martha Coffey, age 74, of Granite Falls, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Frye Regional Medical Center. She was born June 20, 1944, daughter of the late John Fox and Hattie Mask Johnson.

Martha enjoyed her grandchildren, playing golf, and shagging at the beach. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry Charles Coffey; two sisters, Shirley Simmons and Barbara Crump.

Those left to cherish her memory are one son, David Coffey (Alicia) of Granite Falls; one daughter, Beth Story (Kenny) of Lenoir; grandchildren, Daniel Coffey (Megan Laxton), Kristen Coffey McCreary (Cody) of Panama City, Fla., Katie and Kennedy Story; two great-grandchildren, Colton and Anderson McCreary; one brother John Fox of Lenoir; and one sister Ann Marie Epps of Winston Salem.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 15, from 2 to 3 p.m., at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Hudson. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m., with the Revs. Stephen Owens and Mark Dula officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
