ELIZABETH SUSAN "BETSY" COFFEY, age 56, of the Mill Springs Community of Wayne County, Kentucky passed away Thursday, December 10, 1998 at her home. She was born in Wayne County, Kentucky on May 21, 1942 , the daughter of William Henderson and Maude Bland Mason Coffey. Both parents preceded her in death. She is survived by 1 sister Nancy Coffey Goldsmith of Greenville, South Carolina; 2 nieces; and other relatives. She had been employed by Monticello School, Pulaski County School and Lake Cumberland Home Health as a Speech Therapist. She was a breeder of miniature horses at her Leisure Time Farm at the time of her death. In 1957 she became the first female in the state of Kentucky to win all the award patches at Camp Earl Wallace, and received the Outdoorsman Award that year for her achievement. Grave side funeral services were held Sunday, December 13, 1998 at 1 P.M. at Elk Spring Cemetery with Brother Jim Kingry officiating. Burial was in Elk Spring Cemetery. |
