3274. Oscar Gilbert Coffey was born on 27 August 1903 in Kentucky. Oscar died at Somerset City Hospital in Somerset, Pulaski Co., KY on 26 March 1964. Coffey Cemetery in Russell Springs, Russell Co., KY on 27 March 1964 .¹¹²³¹

Mr. Gilbert Coffey of Russell Springs died Thursday, March 26, in Somerset City Hospital. He had been physically handicapped for the last three years due to a stroke. Mr. Coffey was 60 years of age.

A son of the late Tom and Catherine Square [sic] Coffey, he was married to Eula Williams, and to this union five children were born. He is survived by his wife and by three daughters and to sons, as follows: Mrs. Bernice Calhoun, Russell Springs, Mrs. Pauline Womack and Mrs. Wanda George, both of Indianapolis, Barth Coffey, also of Indianapolis, and Lonnie Coffey, Russell Springs. There are a number of other relatives and a great host of friends.

Mr. Coffey professed faith in Christ at an early age and united with the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church. Funeral services were held in this church on Friday afternoon, March 27, conducted by Bro. Kenneth Lovelace. Burial was in the family cemetery.

Rippetoe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Oscar Gilbert Coffey and Eula Ellen Williams were married circa 1922. They appeared in the census on 15 April 1930 on the Montpelier & Russells Spring Road in Adair Co., KY.¹¹²³² They^¹¹²³² appeared in the census on 6 May 1940 in White Oak Pct., Adair Co., KY.¹¹²³³ Eula Ellen Williams, daughter of Luther Martin Williams and Leora Myrtle Wheat, was born on 14 October 1905 in Kentucky. Eula died in Kentucky on 28 April 1983 and was buried at Coffey Cemetery in Russell Springs, Russell Co., KY in April 1983 .¹¹²³⁴

8078	vi.	Barth Almew Coffey was born on 15 August 1938 in Kentucky. Barth does not appear with the family in the 1940 census and, was probably not born in 1938. Barth died in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY on 26 October 1966 in an automobile accident and was buried at Coffey Cemetery in Russell Springs, Russell Co., KY on 28 October 1966 .^11236,11237 Accident Report, The Lexington Herald, Lexington, KY, Thu., Oct. 27, 1966, Page 18 Truck Driver Dies In Crash By The Associated Press A Russell Springs truck driver waas killed Wednesday when his tractor-trailer vehicle failed to make a sharp curve and crashed off Cane Run Road near Louisville. The victim was Barth Coffey, 29, who was pinned beneath his truck when it overturned after clipping off a utility pole. Coffey's death, and two delayed traffic fatality reports received Wednesday by State Police, pushed the state's road toll to 861 for the year compared with 732 at this same time last year.
