Coffey, age 68, of Bowling Green Ky., died Sunday April 8, 2012. Born Aug. 10, 1943, to the late Luther and Ollie Adams Coffey of Berea, Danny was a 1961 graduate of Madison Central and joined the National Guard after graduation. He was a member of the Wayside Christian Church in Berea and had been a sales representative for the Nestle Corporation for 15 years. He retired as administrator of the Danville-Boyle County Senior Citizens Center in 2008. Danny had a love of fishing, gardening and UK Basketball and had been a member of the Berea Lions Club and was proud to be a Kentucky Colonel. Danny was also preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Poff. Danny is survived by: his wife, Maria Cecere Coffey of Bowling Green, Ky., three sons, Dwayne Coffey of Berea, Dexter Coffey of Houston Texas, and Tim Coffey of Berea; two daughters, Teresa Grider and Charita Sabol of Berea, and a step daughter, April (Paul) Lee of Bowling Green; and four grandchildren. He also leaves behind his beloved pug, China. Danny is also survived by his brother Randall (Barbara) Coffey Concord N.C., and two sisters Gaye (Preston) Seals of Berea and Sarah Poff of Berea and a host of nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Saturday, April 14, 2012, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Lakes Funeral Home.
