CYNTHIANA -- George Washington Coffey, 72, of Route 5, a retired farmer, died Sunday at Harrison Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Services 2 p.m. Wednesday at Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home. Visitation 4 to 8 p.m. today.

CAROLYN LEE COFFEY, age 61, Hinton Webber Road, Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Harrison Memorial Hospital, in Cynthiana. Born in Harrison County, Kentucky, on August 26, 1947, to the late George and Martha Chasteen Coffey, she was a caregiver for the elderly.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilburn Coffey and Monroe Coffey. She is survived by: two sons, John Wright, Cynthiana, and Jerry Wright, Harrison County; a daughter, Debbie Wright, Harrison County; five brothers, Johnny Coffey, Robertson County, Bob Coffey, Bracken County, Dave Coffey, Harrison County, Lewis Workman, Lexington, and Mike Coffey, Cynthiana; two sisters, Lou Grayson and Helen Slade, both of Harrison County; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Ware Funeral Home by Chaplain Steve Barton. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
