CYNTHIANA -- George Washington Coffey, 72, of Route 5, a retired farmer, died Sunday at Harrison Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Services 2 p.m. Wednesday at Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home. Visitation 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilburn Coffey and Monroe Coffey. She is survived by: two sons, John Wright, Cynthiana, and Jerry Wright, Harrison County; a daughter, Debbie Wright, Harrison County; five brothers, Johnny Coffey, Robertson County, Bob Coffey, Bracken County, Dave Coffey, Harrison County, Lewis Workman, Lexington, and Mike Coffey, Cynthiana; two sisters, Lou Grayson and Helen Slade, both of Harrison County; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Ware Funeral Home by Chaplain Steve Barton. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass. |
