Berman Cleo "Cotton" Coffey, of Rockbridge Baths died Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Staunton.

Born Aug. 3, 1934, in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late James Alfred Coffey and Mamie Etta Hayslett Coffey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers William Morris "Bill" Coffey and Kenneth Ronald "Pee Wee" Coffey, sister Mary Elizabeth Coffey; granddaughter Amy Nicole Eavey and one great-granddaughter, Shawna Leigh Arrowood.

Cotton was a member of the Natural Bridge Baptist Church, International Harvester Collectors Chapter 41, and a former member of the board of directors of the Rockbridge Farm Bureau. Mr. Coffey also was a veteran of the U.S. Army. N-G

Surviving are his children, Kimberly Harris (Steve) of Stuarts Draft, Sadonna Coffey and Gary Coffey (Sarah Smith), both of Weyers Cave, and James E. Coffey (Susan) of Rockbridge Baths; sisters, Betty Funkhouser and Shirley Humphries; sister-in-law, Bonnie Burjoice; five grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 14, at Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. William L. Zirk Sr. officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Harrison Funeral Home.
