Main St., died in Waynesboro Community Hospital at 8:30 p.m. Friday. He was born in Rockbridge County, the son of the late James and Sallie Dinsmore Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Thompson of Lynchburg; four daughters, Mrs. Sallie Harmon of Rustburg, Miss Eva Thompson of Lynchburg, Mrs. Virginia Eakle of Lynchburg, and Mrs. Eva White of Waynesboro; three sons, Claude Thompson, Harvey Thompson and John Thompson, all of Lynchburg; two brothers, Gilbert Thompson of Rustburg, and Austin Thompson of Waynesboro; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The body will remain at the McDow-Tyree Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday conducted by Rev. Evans Fitzgerald. Burial will be in the Mountain Top Christian Church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Dillard Eagle, Bunny Bryant, John Edwards, Carroll Thompson, Roger Worrells and Charles Thompson.
