Alta M. Greene, age 92 of Fairborn, passed away Saturday June 30, 2012. She was born September 21, 1919 in Estill Co., Kentucky, the daughter of the late William and Rosa (Coffey) Oglesby.

Alta was employed with the U.S. Government in civil service at Wright-Patterson AFB, retiring after over 30 years of service. She was a longtime member of the First Church of Christ in Fairborn and volunteered with the Red Cross. Her hobbies included quilting and bowling. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Ewell in 2008; a daughter, Janet Mae in 2005; four brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by a son, Roger Greene and wife Patty of Florida; two daughters, Patty Trochelman of Fairborn, Doris Pulaski and husband Duke of Medway; six grandchildren, Daphne, Angie, Lisa, Pegi, Debbie, Mike; eleven great-grandchildren, Ryan, Heather, Laurie, Kristen, Katie, Zachary, Ethan, Breanna, Danielle, Megan, Emily; two great great-grandsons, Kaeden, Gage; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, many friends, and neighbors.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 5, 2012 at 6:30 P.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until the time of service. A graveside service will be held on Friday July 6, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Miami Valley Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 1639 E. Lytle-Five Points Rd., Centerville. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the First Church of Christ, Fairborn or, Hospice of Dayton.

Alta Margaret Oglesby and Ewell Rowland Greene were married. Ewell Rowland Greene was born on 17 December 1912 in Nicholas Co., KY. Ewell died in Fairborn, Greene Co., OH on 28 May 2008 and was buried at Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville, Warren Co., OH in May 2008 .⁴⁶⁷²⁴
