Jerry Lee Coffey, 80, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Lewis-Gale Hospital in Salem, Va. Born February 5, 1934 in Rockbridge County a son of the late Edward F. and Beulah Wiseman Coffey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bruce and Lewis Coffey; and one sister, Shirley Mitchell. Mr. Coffey was a member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church of Roanoke and also a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion Post. Surviving are his loving wife of 27 years, Clara (Pat) Coffey; two brothers, Maynard Coffey, Fred Coffey and wife Judy; one sister, Bernice Grow; stepchildren, Joseph Whitten and wife Pam, Barry Whitten and wife Pam, Lisa Funkhouser and husband Cracker; four grandsons; and three great-grandchildren; special dog Isabelle. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2014 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Pastor Steve O'Dell and Pastor Johnny Tickle officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Disabled Veterans National Foundation, 1020 19th St NW - Suite 475,Washington, DC 20036. Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, VA.
