Prior to his retirement, he served for 26 years as postmaster at Love. He was a member and elder of Mountain Top Christian Church and had served as superintendent of the Sunday School for 40 years. He was born May 20, 1878, in Love, a son of the late Elias and Martha Demastus Everitt. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pearl Allen Everitt; one brother, Henry M. Everitt; one sister, Mrs. Zandy Coffey, all of Love; also, a number of nieces and nephews. The body will remain at the Etter Funeral Home until one hour prior to the service, when it will be placed in the Mountain Top Christian Church. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Pettit Coffey, assisted by the Rev. Edward Mayberry, with interment in the church cemetery.
