TYRO -- Nannie Elizabeth Fitzgerald Coffey, 85, died Tuesday morning (April 25) at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. She was the wife of the late Arnie Wilson Coffey. She was born April 20, 1904, in Nelson County, a daughter of the late Perry Dixon and Rosa Lee Coffey Fitzgerald. She was a member of Evergreen Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Dixie C. Fitzgerald of Tyro; a son, Perry C. Coffey of Ceiba, Puerto Rico; a brother, Hershey Fitzgerald of Tyro; and a sister, Mrs. Richard (Oletta) Campbell of Tyro; six. grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Alvin Fitzgerald. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Piney River Funeral Home. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery in Roseland. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Nannie Elizabeth Fitzgerald and Arnie Wilson Coffey were married. Arnie Wilson Coffey, son of Charlie Cleveland Coffey and Elizabeth Fitzgerald, was born on 23 March 1913 in Nelson Co., VA. Arnie died on 29 October 1988 at the age of 75 in Charlottesville, VA and was buried at Jonesboro Baptist Church Cemetery in Roseland, Nelson Co., VA.14915,14916
