Funeral service for George Monroe Coffey, 83, of Love, who died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday night, were conducted Monday afternoon at the Christian Church of Love.

The services were conducted by the Rev. R. T. Harris, of Lynchburg, and interment was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Coffey, a life long resident of the Love Community, was born Feb. 19, 1866, a son of the late John Henry and Elizabeth Monroe Coffey. He was a farmer and forest ranger.
Since the death of his wife, Sarah Grove Coffey, in June 1946, Mr. Coffey made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Eva M. Hewitt.

Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. John W. Everitt, Love; five grandchildren, Elmer C. Hewitt, Love; Lester C. Hewitt, Waynesboro; Mrs. Saylor Coffey, Williard and Ray Everitt, all of Love, and three great-Grand- children.
