His burial site was not given in obituary.42078 Obituary, The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, NC, Sun., Mar. 18, 2001 Dr. Howard Stanley Coffey, 81 years old, born in Beaumont, TX, went to be with the Lord, March 6, 2001, in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico. From the age of 19, he was a missionary in Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba, and Mexico, while also ministering in other Latin American countries. in the United States, he ministered in Tampa, Miami, and Hollywood, FL, as well as in Waynesville, NC. While in Miami, he worked tirelessly with the Cuban refugees both as a pastor and with the immigration service. Howard established Bible Schools in Colombia, Venezuela and Cuernavaca, Mexico, and selflessly devoted the last 10 years of his life to the vision and goal of establishing a Christian university in Mexico, la Universidad Cristiana Autonoma Nacional. Throughout his life, he demonstrated long-suffering, compassion, patience, faithfulness, endurance and the love of Christ. Up to the very end, Howard ministered, taught and encouraged others to follow the King of Kings. A General in God's army has gone on to receive his eternal reward. He is preceded in death by his father, Henry Stanley Coffey, his mother, Gertrude Rivet (Yancey) and his step-father, C.Owen Rivet, all of Beaumont, TX. He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Ruth Aileen Coffey (Feuerstein); his children, Robert S. Coffey, Tulsa, OK; John M. Coffey (Maria Guadalupe), Laredo, TX; Ronald E. Coffey (Lenore), Charlotte, NC; William P. Coffey (Jennifer), Tulsa, OK; Mary E. Kiser (Robert) of Austin, TX; 15 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and his brother, Lester Coffey (Ruth), Houston, TX. Church and funeral services were held in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico.
