Holland Cartwright Coffey, 58, a farmer of Montpelier, Kentucky, passed away September 5, 1968 at 8:15 p.m. at Adair Memorial Hospital, Columbia, Kentucky, after several months illness.

He was the son of the late Hershel and Goldie Hurt Coffey of Montpelier.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Zelma Morrison Coffey, Montpelier; four sons, Joe Norman Coffey and Earl M. Coffey, both of Montpelier; Carl David Coffey of Fern Creek, Kentucky; and Gene Allen Coffey of Louisville; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Hold of Montpelier, Mrs. Ina Smith of Valley Station, Kentucky; and Mrs. Guenda [sic] Sue Miller of Newark, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Catherine Moss of Bardstown; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 7, at 2:00 p.m. at Stotts and Phelps Funeral Home. Rev. Bernard Bricker officiated.

Interment was in Haven Hill Cemetery, Columbia.

Holland Cartwright Coffey and Zelma Morrison were married circa 1930 in Adair Co., KY. Zelma Morrison, daughter of G. G. Morrison and Laura , was born on 3 March 1912 in Kentucky. She lived with her parents in Adair Co., KY on 9 January 1920. Zelma died in Adair Co., KY on 3 March 1991 and was buried at Haven Hill Cemetery in Columbia, Adair Co., KY in March 1991 .²⁵³²⁶
