Coffey Richmond - John D. Coffey, 75, of Richmond Route 3, died at 9:05 a.m. Thursday at the Pattie A. Clay Hospital after a short illness. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion and the Mt. Zion Christian Church, and was a retired farmer. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Jessie Carr Coffey; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Lee Cundiff, Lexington; four sisters, Mrs. Dave Hisle, Mrs. Noel Stephens and Mrs. James Story, Madison County, and Mrs. Homer McDaniels, Woodford County; five brothers, David, Bertie and Clark Coffey, Madison County; James Coffey, Oldham County, and Robert Coffey, Lexington; one grandson and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Oldham, Roberts and Powell Funeral Home by the Rev. Tom Newton. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.
