CHRISTINE COFFEY CHRISWELL Oct. 22, 1932-May 30, 2009 Christine Coffey Chriswell, age 76, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009 at her home. She was born October 22, 1932 in Wayne County, the daughter of the late Oscar and Lizzie Mae Keeton Coffey.

On August 14, 1950 she united in marriage to Sam Chriswell, her husband of 58 years. To this union three children survive-Mary Lois Roberts, William Junior Chriswell, and Bobby Lee Chriswell; nieces and nephews-Susette Powers, Lewis Alvin, Sammy and Steven Coffey; grandchildren-Katina Shearer, Kalisa Hay, Kasey Chriswell, and Kelly Sue Goff, Darin, Stuart, and Tyler Chriswell, Chris and Eli Roberts; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters-Geneva Baker, Elneda Craig, Sue Stockton; brothers-Raymond and Billy Coffey; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her brothers-Elwood and Edward Kay Coffey.

She was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star where she worked in her local Chapter #526. She held the positions of Past Worthy Matron, District Deputy Grand Matron and Grand Representative to Texas. She was also an active member of the Cooper Homemakers for many years.

She had accepted Christ as her Savior as a young lady and was a faithful member of the New Hope Baptist Church. The Eastern Star Service was held Monday, June 1, 2009 by the Monticello Chapter #526 OES.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 2, 2009 with Bro. Henry Stringer officiating. Burial followed in the Old Sandusky Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church Building Fund. Hickey and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
