Hawthorne- Mary Parks Mims Moore died on March 20, 2013 in Gainesville, Florida. She was born January 3, 1924 in Tennessee.

Mrs. Moore spent her adolescent years in Nashville and attended Isaac Litton Primary School and received degrees from Nashville's Trevecca College and The George Peabody College for Teachers. As a young bride Mrs. Moore moved from Tennessee to Hawthorne, Florida in 1948. She made her home in Hawthorne and was the Hawthorne Public Librarian for 31 years. As a committed and highly involved member of the Hawthorne community she served on Alachua County Children's Commission, Alachua County Historical Commission, Friends of the Library and Hawthorne Area Revitalization Commission. She was a life long Episcopalian and founding member of the Church of the Holy Communion, Hawthorne.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her beloved husband Francis Read Moore and her parents Albert Clinton Mims and Mary Francis Coffey.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her son Dale Read Moore of Lilburn, GA; daughter Deborah Moore Brown of Orange Heights, FL; five granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Church of the Holy Communion, 21810 SE 69th Ave Hawthorne, FL 32640.

Arrangements are under the care of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Hawthorne, US 301S at Lake Avenue. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be sent to the Church of the Holy Communion, P.O. Box 655 Hawthorne, FL 32640 or Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Boulevard, Gainesville, FL 32606.

Mary Parks Mims and Francis Read Moore were married on 19 June 1948 in Duval Co., FL.²⁵²⁵¹ Francis Read Moore was born on 1 May 1917. Francis died in Florida on 26 January 2004 and was buried at Hawthorne Cemetery in Hawthorne, Alachua Co., FL in January 2004 .²⁵²⁵²
