SHOCKLEY, MR. DILLON - age 93, of Tazewell, Tennessee, was born September 26, 1919, and passed away April 5, 2013. He was a member of Howerton's Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Shockley taught Sunday school for over 60 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air force. Mr. Shockley also taught and retired from the Claiborne County School System after 42 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tilmon and Bessie (Bull) Shockley; wife, Loeda Barnard Shockley; brothers, Dayton Shockley and J. B. Shockley; infant brother, William Chapman Shockley; sisters, Barbara Burke and Lovada Harville.

He is survived by his son, Roger and wife, Jane Shockley, of Tazewell, Tennessee; daughter, Annette and husband, Joe Overton, of Tazewell, Tennessee; grandsons, Derrick Shockley and wife, Jodi, of Tazewell, Tennessee, Brian Shockley of Thorn Hill, Tennessee; granddaughter, Paige Overton of Johnson City, Tennessee; brother, Doyle Shockley and wife, Bennie Mae, of Tazewell, Tennessee; sister, Cloda Coffey and husband, Corbett, of Morristown, Tennessee; and a host of nieces and nephews; and other relative; and friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday, April 7th, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Larry McAnally and the Rev. J.C. Bull officiating. Music will be provided by Greg Shockley.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday, April 8th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers: Cawood Reece, Johnnie Lakins, Gary Long, David McNew, Gary Shockley, and Alex England. Honorary pallbearers: Corbett Coffey, Fred Barnard, J.P. Barnard, Tip Long, Tommy Brooks, Mark Mullins, and employees of Discount Auto Parts of Sneedville.
