Mrs. Lane was a resident of Lima, Peru, for 35 years and while there was principal of Roosevelt School. Mrs. Lane was a native of Scottsboro, Ala., and a member and elder of Suffolk Presbyterian Church. She was a past president and honorary member of the American Women's Literary Club in Lima. She was an honorary life member of Suffolk Women's Club and a member of the Constantia Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. She served as a volunteer with the American Red Cross and was a former member of the American Association of University Women. Survivors include a daughter, Frances L. Alwood of Suffolk; a son, Robert M. Lane Jr. of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and at other times will be at 620 West Washington St., Suffolk. A funeral will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Suffolk Presbyterian Church by the Rev. J. Allen Johnson. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Suffolk Presbyterian Church, 410 N.
