Woodrow O. Hewitt, 74, of Port Royal Plantation, died Wednesday at Hilton Head Hospital following a brief illness. He was a winter resident of Hilton Head Island since 1978 and was a native of Waynesboro, Virginia. He was retired vice president of Moore Brothers Company, Inc. of Waynesboro. He was a trustee for Fishburn Military School in Waynesboro.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Hewitt of Waynesboro and Hilton Head; two daughters, Mrs. Emily H. Rizer of Toronto, Canada, and Mrs. Karen Holland of Annapolis, Maryland; and four grandchildren.

Interment will be at Augusta Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro. The family suggests that those who wish, make memorial contributions to the Fishburn Military Academy, Waynesboro, VA. The Island Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Woodrow O. Hewitt and Kathryn Shiflet were married. Kathryn Shiflet was born on 20 December 1913 in Augusta Co., VA. Kathryn died in Virginia on 11 March 1995 and was buried at Augusta Memorial Park in Augusta Co., VA in March 1995 .⁴²⁸⁹²
