Cabell's company, on 13 February 1776–14 February 1776 at Amherst Co., VA and, was discharged191,192,193 Coffey, Osborn, --Casey Co., Ky., Feb. 8, 1830, "aged about 71": enlisted Feb. 14, 1776, under Capt. Samuel J. Cabell, Col. Mordecai Buckner's 6th Va. Regt., Contl. Line; later attached to Col. Morgan's Regt. discharged Feb. 14, 1778; served as Sergt. at battles of Guilford, Eutaw Springs & Camden. William Montgomery testified Dec. 8, 1829, he was with Coffey under Capt. Samuel Cabell at Trenton, Princeton & Saratoga (where we took Burgoyne after two hard battles) and White Marsh. They were marched home to Amherst by Capts. Rose & Barnett. Served 1 yr. as Sergt. under Col. Greene in the South. Coffey has been neighbor to him in Ky. since 1797. He d. March 13, 1840, and Polly Coffey, pensioner's widow, applied same place April 8, 1844, age 88, & Patrick Hyght, aged 79, Casey Co., Ky., Nov. 2, 1844 testified they were at the marriage of Osborn Coffey & Mary Nightingale, in Amherst Co., Va., Feb. 15, 1783. Two children, Lucy & Jesse Coffey, living in Middleburg, Ky., Sept., 1844. Coffey (Coffee), Ozbourn and Mary (Nightengale) (W8612), Va. service, Ky. Agcy.: Cert. 7652 issued 11 May 1833, Act 7 June 1832, at $110 per an.). He was pensioned for 6 mo. as Pvt. and 18 mo. as Capt. On 8 Feb. 1830 he refers to his wife, age 68 and one of his daughters and mentions Jesse, b. 26 May 1784, and Lucy. Osborn Coffey and Mary "Polly" Nightingale were married on 13 February 1783 in Amherst Co., VA.199,200 Mary "Polly" Nightingale, daughter of Mathew Nightingale and Lucy , was born in 1761 in Kentucky. Polly died on 12 September 1847 at the age of 86 in Casey Co., KY and was buried at Middleburg Cemetery in Middleburg Twp, Casey Co., KY.201,202 Osborn Coffey and Mary "Polly" Nightingale had the following children:
