Rev. Anderson Burton Coffey ,79 of 318 Horace Rice Rd went to be with his Lord, Sunday, June 9, 2013. He was a son of the late Posey Jerome and Elizabeth Griffin Coffey. Anderson loved the Lord and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He had been a pastor since 1976, and was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church. He retired from NC Department of Transportation working in the bridge division. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son; David Jerome Coffey, sisters; Claire, Lilly, Ada, Pearl, Viola, Gertrude and Loraine, brothers; Carroll, Frank, and James.

Surviving is his wife of 63 years Girtha Gunter Coffey, daughter; Mary Ann Coffey, sons; Charles Coffey Sr.(Jackie) , Freddie Coffey and Ronnie Coffey (Cindy) , Grandchildren; Jeremy (Charlita), Charles Jr. (Amanda), Scotty and Wendi Coffey, Great-grandchildren; Colton, Chloe, Blake and Peyton Coffey and Logan Campbell, sisters; Meredith Wilburn, Esther Bailey, Evelyn Hatton, brothers; Floyd and Leonard Coffey, several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Ricky Honeycutt, Weldon Ramsey and Kenneth Parker will officiate. Burial will follow at Gabriel's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. at Blue Ridge Funeral Service Obit
