Malcolm Coffey, 87, of Fishersville, passed away Thursday October 30, 2014.

He was born February 21, 1927 in Augusta County to the late Alvin and Fammie DeMastus Coffey.

Malcolm served honorably with the 349th Army Infantry Regiment during World War II. He retired from DuPont in 1982 after 38 years of faithful service.

He is preceded in death by 2 sons, William D. Coffey and Dennis D. Coffey and his loving wife of 58 years Helen Maupin Coffey. He is also preceded in death by siblings Oakley Coffey and Betty Matheny.

Malcolm is survived by one son Bruce M. Coffey and his wife, Mary Beth, of Bent Mountain, Virginia; grandchildren Michelle Coffey of Germany, Phillip Coffey of Waynesboro, Chris Coffey of Waynesboro, Shea Coffey and wife Maggie of Roanoke, Eoin Coffey of Bent Mountain, Niall Coffey of Roanoke, 4 great- grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends, Tom Bartley, and the Wampler family.

A service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2014, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by the Rev. Patrick Pettit. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

The family invites all who wish to pay their respects to visit on Sunday, November 2 at the farm, 996 Entry School Road, Fishersville, from 3:00pm to 8:00pm.

He was a long standing member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church and we want to thank our church family for their love and support.

Helen died on 9 August 2006 at the age of 76 at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville Co., VA and was buried at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro, Independent City, VA on 12 August 2006.28945

Helen Marie Coffey, 76, of Fishersville passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at the University Medical Center in Charlottesville.

She was born August 9, 1930 in Waynesboro the daughter of the late Sherwood and Lelia Smith Maupin.

She was a member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church in Dooms. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, William D. Coffey and Dennis D. Coffey, one sister, Mary Louise Knowles and one brother, Stanley E. Maupin.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, D. Malcolm Coffey; one son, Bruce M. and his wife Mary Ruth Coffey of Bent Mt., VA; daughter in law, Barbara Coffey of Waynesboro; sister, Shirley Bryan of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Michele Coffey of Germany, Phillip Coffey of Waynesboro, Chris Coffey of Waynesboro, Shea, Eoin and Niall Coffey all of Bent Mt.; three great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special sister-in-law, Betty Matheny, a special friend, Mary Wampler and also the Wampler and Bragg families.

A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, August 12, 2006 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Service by Rev. Will Heyward. Burial to follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Tom Bartley, Bobby and Ronnie Meek, Benny Flory, Jeff Wampler and Larry Hoover. There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home, as friends will be received at the residence at any time. William died at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA on 13 August 1959 from injuries received when he fell from a hay wagon and was buried at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro, Independent City, VA on 16 August 1959 .28946

Seven-year-old William Douglas Coffey, son of Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt Malcolm Coffey, 316 Isle Ave., died last night in University Hospital, Charlottesville, as the result of injuries sustained in falling off a hay wagon on S. Delphine Ave. Monday.

The youngster was born June 24, 1952 in Waynesboro. He was a member of Orchard Hill Presbyterian Chapel.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include two brothers, Dennis DeWitt Coffey and Bruce Malcolm Coffey, both at home; maternal grandparents, Sherwood Maupin and Mrs. Lelia Maupin of Waynesboro, and his great-grandmother, Mrs. Fannie Maupin of Waynesboro.

A funeral service will be held in the Memorial Chapel of McDow-Tyree Funeral Home Sunday at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. James Allen and the Rev. Kenneth McCaskill. Interment will be in Augusta Memorial Park.
