6631. Milton Carter Dalton was born on 20 December 1880 in Grainger Co., TN.

He was the son of Nancy Elizabeth (Whitsett) Dalton and, was born three years after the death of his mother's first husband, Carter Dalton. He was the natural son of Anderson Dalton. [Rick Miller]
Milton resided with his widowed mother. in Claiborne Co., TN on 21 April 1910. Milton died in Tazewell, Claiborne Co., TN on 15 May 1966 and was buried at Campbell Cemetery in Tazewell, Claiborne Co., TN on 17 May 1966 .²¹⁹⁷⁷

Milton Carter Dalton, age 85, of Rte. 6, Tazewell, died May 15, at the Claiborne Hospital. He was a member of Little Sycamore Baptist Church; engaged in farming and was a sawmill operator.

Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Laura V. Dalton, Tazewell; sons, J.C. Dalton, Tazewell; Fred, Trenton, Mich.; Carson, Monroe, Mich.; daughters, Miss Cassie Dalton, Tazewell; Miss Tinnie Dalton, Dandridge; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, Charlie Dalton, Tazewell.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Bob Brooks and Sam Coffey officiating. Burial in Campbell Cemetery. 

Pallbearers: Julius Estes, John Bolton, Wade Whitaker, Bill Brooks, George Estes and Ira Nunn. Coffey in charge.

Milton Carter Dalton and Eliza Jane Owens were married in 1900 in Tennessee. They appeared in the census on 20 January 1920 at Dist. 4 in Claiborne Co., TN.²¹⁹⁷⁸ They²¹⁹⁷⁸ appeared in the census on 14 April 1930 in Springdale, Claiborne Co., TN.²¹⁹⁷⁹ Milton and Eliza²¹⁹⁷⁹ appeared in the census on 19 April 1940 at Dist. 4 in Claiborne Co., TN.²¹⁹⁸⁰ Eliza Jane Owens was born on 5 August 1876 in Claiborne Co., TN. Eliza died in Tazewell, Claiborne Co., TN on 18 November 1941 and was buried at Campbell Cemetery in Tazewell, Claiborne Co., TN in November 1941 .²¹⁹⁸¹
