Bro. Donnie Coffey

Bro. Donnie L. Coffey, age 68, of Russell Spring, died Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. He was born in Russell County on November 16, 1942, and was a son of the late Cassius Clay Coffey and Okle May Gosser Coffey.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Marie Coffey and Llith Whittle, and a brother, Ed. T. Coffey.

Bro. Coffey was a minister and carpenter, and a member of the Square Oak Separate Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Glenna Gaye Zimmerman Coffey, Russell Springs, three children, Bro. Troy Lee (Allison) Coffey, Russell Springs; Tonia Coffey, Russell Springs; and Tylar (Carolee) Coffey, Russell Springs; six grandchildren, Donavyn Tate Coffey, Cadylee Dayne Coffey, Brenan Lee Coffey, Audrey Payton Coffey, Branscum Hayes Coffey and Caden Jace Coffey; three brothers, Jimmy Clay (Della) Coffey, Russell Springs, Paul (Melody) Coffey, Russell Springs, and Doug Coffey, Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters, Imogene (Ertis) Cain, Somerset, and Jennie (Danny) Hart, Russell Springs; and by a sister-in-law, Dicy Coffey, Russels Springs.

The funeral was Wednesday, May 25, 2011, 10:00 a.m., at the Fairview Separate Baptist Church, with Bro. Bobby Conner, Bro. Randy Brown, Bro. David Coffey and Bro. Danny Hart officiating. Special music was presented by Harry Kimbler and David Hadley.

Honorary pallbearers were Don Miller, LeRoyse Melson, Kevin Antle; David Hadley, Barry Lawson, David Irwin, Gary Godby, Doug Baldwin, Clifford Wilson, Carlie Roy, David Giles and Jeff Hubbard.

Active pallbearers were Neal Dalton, Leon Wooldridge, Brently Bault, Wayne Baird, Clint Hart, Lance Coffey and grandchildren.

Burial was in the Square Oak Cemetery.

Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
