James "Jim" Vernon Coffey, 71, of Denton died Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was born March 1, 1936 in Slidell to James Wendall "Doc" Coffey and Myrtle Mildred Gibbs Coffey. He attended Slidell Public Schools and graduated from U.N.T. He had retired from TX DOT. He married LeAnne Boyd on September 21, 1985 in Decatur. He was a member of Church of Christ in Sanger.

Visitation will be Friday, September 28, 2007 from 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the service at 11 a.m. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with John Payne officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Argyle. Pallbearers will be Bill Marquis, Wayne Lovejoy, Don Covington, Ken Crouch, Ted Carthel and Tom Falkner.

He is survived by his wife, LeAnne Boyd Coffey of Denton; daughter, Staci Anette Coffey Tidwell Nichols of Wylie; son, James Arnold Coffey of Krum; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. 

A living couple was married in 1985 in Denton Co., TX.⁴⁷⁵⁴⁶ Living, daughter of Charles Ray Boyd and Betty Ann Willis, was born in 1957 in Tarrant Co., TX.⁴⁷⁵⁴⁷
