The funeral service in her honor will begin at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2009 at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL, 61938, with Reverend Ed Hoke officiating. Interment will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Mrs. Cantwell was born February 18, 1920, in Mattoon, IL, the daughter of Robert W. and Lela (Foote) Coffey. She married Dr. Lee Carter Cantwell in Mattoon, IL, on January 7, 1945. He passed away on November 30, 1998. She is survived by their daughter, Claudia Ingle and husband Dan of Herrin, IL; and three grandchildren, Patrick Ingle and wife Hope of Urbana, IL, Brian Ingle and wife Maura of Herrin, IL, and Dr. Lindsey Ingle of Charleston, IL. She leaves four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Cantwell was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Mrs. Cantwell was a former elder and member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mattoon, IL, a current member of the First United Methodist Church in Herrin, IL, a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization. She was an accountant for Cantwell Optometry. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed dancing, and loved music, especially from the Big Band Era. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who truly cherished her family. Memorials may be made to the organization of the donor's choice.
