Mrs. Catherine Moretz Seatz, 79, of 198 Brown Road, Todd, died Monday night, May 3, 2004, at Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson.

She was born June 27, 1924, in Claremont, Catawba County, to the late Poly and Nora Coffey Moretz. Mrs. Seatz was a homemaker and a member of South Fork Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Edgar L. Seatz; two daughters, Ms. Yvonnie Fletcher of West Jefferson and Doris Sigmon and husband, Lewis, of Todd; two granddaughters, Joanne Fletcher of West Jefferson and Julie Alexander of Todd; one brother, Samuel Moretz and wife, Jessie, of Boone; and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Whitener of Hickory and Mrs. Yvonnie Carpenter of Rochester, New York. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state from 1-2 p.m.

Officiating will be the Rev. Clay McLean and the Rev. Ray Minton. Burial will follow in Old Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1-2 p.m., at the funeral home, prior to the service. At other times, friends may call at the home of Doris and Lewis Sigmon, 199 Brown Road in Todd.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Old Mount Pleasant Cemetery, in care of George Winebarger, 1767 Burkett Road, Boone, N.C. 28607.

Edgar died in Boone, Watauga Co., NC on 18 April 2012 and was buried at Old Mount Pleasant Bethel Lutheran-Church Cemetery in Boone, Watauga Co., NC on 21 April 2012 .⁴⁴⁷¹⁵

Mr. Edgar L. Seatz, age 90, of 198 Brown Road, Todd, died Wednesday morning, April 18, 2012, at Watauga Medical Center after a period of declining health.

Mr. Seatz was born May 28, 1921 in Ashe County, a son of the late Roby W. and Barbara Moretz Seatz. He was a retired self-employed farmer and a member and former deacon of South Fork Baptist Church in Todd.

Mr. Seatz is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Fletcher and Doris Sigmon and husband Lewis, all of Todd; two granddaughters, Joanne Fletcher of Todd, and Julie Alexander-Hamilton and husband Justin of Penrose, North Carolina; one sister, Mrs. Grace Wagoner of Todd, and one brother, Reverend Robert Eugene Seatz of Granite Falls. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Catherine M. Seatz; a son-in-law, Larry Dean Fletcher; five sisters, and three brothers.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Edgar L. Seatz will be conducted Saturday afternoon, April 21, 2012, at 2:00 o'clock, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state, at the chapel, from 1:00 until 2:00 o'clock. Officiating will be Reverend Homer Murdock and Reverend Herbert McCoy. Burial will follow in Old Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, from 1:00 until 2:00 o'clock, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
