McKinney, Texas, April 5 (AP)--One person was injured fatally and four injured, two seriously, when an automobile crashed into a roadside ditch two miles north of here early Sunday. The dead: T. R. (Thomas) Evans, 37, fireman, Houston. The injured: Mrs. Evans, the wife, internal injuries and injuries to her right leg. Miss Mabelle Coffey of Roff, Ok., Mrs. Evans' sister, internal injuries. Rufus Thomas, 13-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Evans, slight injuries. Loren Hughey, Ada, Ok., slight injuries. Evans was on a vacation and the party was en route to Roff to visit Mrs. Evans' parents. The accident came after an all-night drive from Houston beginning late Saturday. Besides the deat and injured, other occupants of the car were a Mr. and Mrs. Henline of Houston, cousins of the Evans, and their two children. The automobile caught fire and was destroyed along with some money. Evans died at 8:30 Sunday morning shortly after reaching a hospital here. Fire Chief J. S. McKinney ordered the city hall flag lowered to half mast out of respect to a brother fire-fighter. Maybell Coffey and Winfrey "Mac" McKeel were married on 1 July 1931. They appeared in the census on 9 April 1940 in Gray Co., TX.40889 Winfrey "Mac" McKeel was born on 1 December 1907. Mac died on 13 December 2001 at the age of 94 in Midland, Midland Co., TX and was buried at Fairview Cemetery in Midland, Midland Co., TX.40890 Maybell Coffey and Winfrey "Mac" McKeel had the following children:
