She was born January, 22, 1929 in Hickory, North Carolina to Lemuel Monroe Hendrix and Tiny Sheehan Hendrix. Surviving are her son, Charles Monroe Coffey and his wife, Mary Ann Coffey of Hickory; two granddaughters, Allyson Kirtley and husband John of Hickory, and Natalie Robertson of Indianapolis, Indiana; and two brothers, Bob Hendrix and wife, Jean of Hickory, and Carroll Hendrix and wife, Alice of San Antonio, Texas. Margaret retired from Catawba Valley Medical Center as a CNA. The family would like to express their deep gratitude her buddies and "partners in crime" on Dogwood Hall at Trinity Village for always keeping her spirits high. A memorial service was held Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Trinity Village Chapel (formerly Lutheran Home) with the Reverend Mark Andrews officiating. Private interment was held prior to the service at Catawba Memorial Park. Bass-Smith Funeral Home and Crematory in Hickory was in charge of arrangements.
