Mrs. Bragg was born Jan. 18, 1937 in Catawba County, to the late Fred James Coffey and Mary Jane Cook Coffey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Coffey; and a sister, Rachel C. Bishop. She attended St. Luke's Lutheran Church and was a former employee of Wal-Mart. Survivors include a son, Johnny Lowman and wife, Regina of Claremont; a daughter, Robin Austin and husband, Michael of Claremont; a sister, Reba C. McKee of Pilot Mountain; grandchildren, Brandy Austin Winters, Jonathon Austin, Melinda Lowman and William Lowman; a great-grandson, Austin Winters. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 15, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Bass-Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Lindsay officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends this evening (Monday, April 14), from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, c/o the Building Fund, 3916 Springs Road, Conover, NC 28613.
